How to Help
TRC exist to help protect the Black River and Paw Paw River Watersheds. In many ways, we are here to help you help the watersheds. Here are someways to help us meet our mission.
- Explore this website to learn more about our watersheds and our work to help the watersheds.
- Join us at our events and help us complete our work.
- Join us at our board meetings to learn more about our ongoing activities and add to your input of the issues in our watersheds. Better yet become a board member to add your energy and expertise.
- Become a TRC member or add your contact details to our Contact List to receive emails about events and other activities.
- Make a donation to support our work.
- Report any suspected pollution events or riparian activities that may require EGLE approval such as dredging, and filling, etc. How to report link.
- Support our watershed friends such as our conservation districts, local land trusts, nature centers, and lake associations. See left bar menu on Home page.
- Advocate for riparian protection at the township levels for riparian buffers and adequate setbacks.
- Advocate at the state level for water quality issues such as statewide septic system inspections which is currently being considered.
- If you live on a lake or river, consider a natural riparian buffer. See Waterfront Living for more details.
- Participate in stewardship activities to help manage our ecologically valuable habitat in the watersheds.
